Success story: Wild Oats XI and Advanced Navigation
Wild Oats has chosen Advanced Navigation to commission a high accuracy navigation, heading and leeway system for their renowned maxi yacht.

 

Wild Oats XI is an Australian maxi yacht, most famous for being the race record holder and a nine-times line honours winner of the Sydney to Hobart Race. Her helmsman, Mark Richards, is recognised as the race’s most successful skipper.

ADVANCED NAVIGATION SPATIAL USED IN THE LATEST AMZ RACE CAR
AMZ’s latest car, named after the famous Swiss mountain pass, weighs only 181 kilograms. With 156kw, the power-to-weight ratio is 0.86 kW/kg, a value that exceeds even supercars and gives the prototype its tremendous acceleration. AMZ has selected Advanced Navigation Spatial Dual, a ruggedized miniature GPS aided INS and AHRS that provides accurate position, velocity, acceleration and orientation.

DYNETICS SELECTS ADVANCED NAVIGATION FOR THE GREMLINS PROGRAM
Dynetics has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to demonstrate the capability to launch unmanned aircraft from warplanes and quickly recover them in mid-air. Named “Gremlins”, these drones are designed to be low cost and reusable within 24 hours after a mission.
“Rapid development of innovative and complex systems like Gremlins drives us to identify and use system components with the highest reputation for reliability and performance. We are proud to be working, once again, with Advanced Navigation on another one of our priority demonstration programs." said Tim Keeter, Deputy Program Manager and Chief Engineer for Gremlins at Dynetics.
